The picturesque village of Bentué de Rasal is nestled in the shadow of Peiró peak. Its streets are home to a host of traditional high-mountain architecture (doors with lintels and homes with few windows, etc.). These impressive houses feature conical chimneys on their roofs topped with an “espantabrujas: a traditional way of protecting homes from evil spirits.
The village provide access to several trails guaranteed to delight nature lovers: the ascent to Peiró peak, with the southernmost beech stand in the Pyrenees; the third stage of the GR1 footpath from Arguis to Bolea; and access to the Nieve de Las Calmas wells.
