Santa María de la Peña rises slender and peaceful from a hill next to the Peña reservoir.
The Parish Church of San Sebastián y Santa María is in the center of the village. Although its façade and tower show traces of its Romanesque origins, the rest of the building owes its profile and volume to the Baroque period.
The Chapel of Santiago is nearby.
The top of Santa María de la Peña provides spectacular views of the beauty of the Peña Valley and its reservoir.
