The quaint village of Lierta is nestled on the plains of the Sierra de Gratal.

At the center of the hamlet is the Renaissance-style Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de Pilar.

Visitors can also see some of its chapels: San Julián, located in a cave in the mountains, and Nuestra Señora de los Remedios.

Nearby is the spectacular Gorgas de San Julián, a can’t-miss spot for nature and hiking lovers.

Lierta celebrates its annual festival on October 12th, in honor of its patron saint.

Situado a 22 kilómetros de Huesca, Quinzano muestra su caserío entre una de las llanuras que nacen junto a las faldas de las sierras de Loarre, Caballera y Gratal.

Desde la carretera A-132 destaca ya el perfil de su iglesia parroquial dedicada a San Martín. De su original factura románica quedan algunos capiteles y su torre, sin embargo, el resto de la fábrica denota las adiciones y enriquecimientos posteriores, sobre todo del siglo XVIII, momento en el que fue parcialmente reconstruida.

Destacan algunas casonas con dinteles tallados y portadas doveladas.

En sus alrededores encontraremos el barranco de “La Paúl”, donde se sitúan restos romanos.

Son estos vestigios que inducen a pensar en un probable origen latino del nombre de la población relacionado con su distancia.

Las fiestas de la localidad se celebran el 11 de noviembre por San Martín.

The hamlet of Plasencia del Monte unfolds along the A-132 road.

Its Parish Church of Nuestra Señora de La Corona, a typical construction that combines structures and decorative elements from different eras and styles, is found in the center of the village.

Nearby is the Chapel of San Juan Bautista and Nuestra Señora del Montillo, as well as a former railway station, now part of our major industrial heritage, La Balsa, and the ancient cellars.

Plasencia is also a spot along one of the marked mountain-biking trails in the Hoya de Huesca region: the trail between the Sotón and Riel rivers.

At 14 kilometers from Huesca, Esquedas is located on a plain on the banks of the Sotón River.

The layout of its streets is simple and irregular, although practically all the homes are built outwards from the Parish Church of San Gregorio, to which important additions and reforms were made in the 18th century.

The annual festivals are celebrated on May 9th in honor of St. Gregory, and on the third weekend of September to celebrate the Brotherhood of the Blessed Sacrament.
