Casbas is located in the heart of Hoya de Huesca’s Somontano region and owes its historical importance and evolution to the founding of the Nuestra Señora de la Gloria Monastery, the only example of a Cistercian Monastery in Alto Aragón.
In addition to this historic and artistic monument, visitors can see the Parish Church of San Nicolás, the delicate Romanesque-style Chapel of Bascués (12th century), the Chapel of San José, and the restored ice house, a short distance from the village.
Casbas is also part of some of the most unexpected trails and routes in the region: two stages of the Hoya de Huesca Nature Trail and the Valle de la Gloria mountain bike route, all framed by the unparalleled range of Sierra de Guara.
