A range of options for discovering our cultural heritage
Hoya de Huesca, located in a region where the mountains meet the plains, once served as the border between the two dominant Hispanic cultures during the Middle Ages. The region is a tapestry of contrasting landscapes and home to an impressive variety of cultural and natural landmarks and heritage.
The villages and towns in Hoya open their doors to their biggest cultural attractions during the summer season, showcasing the rich heritage the region has to offer. The permanent cultural tourism available in the city of Huesca, the Collegiate church of Santa María la Mayor in Bolea and the Loarre Castle, open year-round, are supplemented in summer with a series of can't-miss monuments and exhibition spaces in other small towns and villages that dot the region, offering visitors a wide range of options.
Visitors can discover and admire our iconic Romanesque architecture and the evocative sets of Gothic mural paintings preserved in the region's churches, as well as explore the history of our people through different festivals and events that showcase our rural ethnographic heritage.
Visitors will find "Open Doors" in Hoya. Stop on by and enjoy!
